About

The AimWarn project aims to provide server side cheat detection and prevention to all HalfLife and Source engine based mods. A concept system was coded late 2005 has been running on a public Day of Defeat server and caught a few blatant cheaters since this time. In early 2006, development picked up once again and some more thorough tests were performed.

After a short period of development a large range of ideas have been discovered and foregone public testing with real players. The results have proven very promising detecting blatant cheaters quite quickly with minimal false positives on legitimate players.

Concept Test Video

We decided to make a short movie demonstrating the detection system in action during our first concept alpha test. We are using an AMXBans back-end, so the actual ban takes effect about a minute after the notice on the bottom of the screen. Also take note that the cheater is banned three times within a twenty minute period.
